Black Sea Coast

touching black sea When I lived in Bulgaria two years back, my home city of Blagoevgrad was located in the inland southwest corner adjacent to Macedonia and Greece. I was fortunate enough {on my tight student budget} to hitch an overnight bus ride to the coast of the Black Sea, and I'm so happy I did. Venturing to the Black Sea had been on my bucket list since I had arrived in Bulgaria, and well, when in Bulgaria....

Varna is a popular summer vacation destination for Eastern Europeans. Even though it was a brisk weekend in early April, the history, charm and natural beauty of this coastal Black Sea town was still very apparent. I recently read this post {here} on the newly redone International Hotel Casino & Tower Suites and it brought me back to my Bulgarian days. I kept a blog {here} while living over there, and it was one of the best things I've ever done. When I get nostalgic for those carefree days of exploring the world, I go back and read a post or two. I then instantly can't wait to be that globetrotter again.

Read this post {here} for a more detailed description of my time in Varna.
