Happy Monday, my dear friends! I hope your weekends were wonderful and your weeks are off to a great start. This is a busy one for Hobson and I, and one we've been waiting for awhile now. So while we dove into the chaos of the week early this morning, yesterday was the perfect time to take it slow, relax and gear up for the craze of the week.
Yesterday, I spent the afternoon with my mom, sister and her boyfriend at a Blackberry Festival at our local winery, White Silo Farm. It was a perfect, quiet afternoon activity. We sat in adirondack chairs in the sun, with a view overlooking the farm and the hills of western Connecticut. We enjoyed live music from a local duo and ate savory, blackberry-filled snacks (grilled fontina sandwiches with blackberry jam, blackberry honey creme, blackberry galettes, blackberry crumb pies, and fruit wines... Is your mouth watering yet? I don't blame you. And there was more too! Our bellies were just too full.)
White Silo actually has these festivals all the time, depending on the time of year. Rhubarb festivals, asparagus festivals, raspberry festivals... oh boy! And we've never even been to one! But I can promise you that will change. Nothing quite like a slow, summertime afternoon at a festival. Am I right? I'm right. Anyway, here's to a fab summer week!
