My Style: Summer Professional
Hi there, my friends! I hope you're all enjoying this beautiful summer week. I want to extend a very big thank you from the bottom of my heart for all the birthday wishes I received, whether via comments on the blog, messages on Facebook, Twitter shout-outs, Instagram notes and even emails. Sometimes I'm just completely awestruck at how truly amazing, tight-knit and caring this blogging community is, and this was one of those times. So you guys rock!
My birthday was wonderful, and I'll write up a post soon. For today, I'm leaving you with my very first outfit post! Phew! I'm a bit nervous with this one, I'll admit. While I feel very at home behind the camera, stepping out in front of it for the sole purpose of modeling is a very different story. I'm great at candid shots of myself or photos with another person, but when I'm smiling or walking or posing just to get a good shot of myself, I find I'm definitely outside of my comfort zone. But where can you go in life if you stay inside the box all the time? Stepping beyond the boundaries is good for the soul, and because I have gotten inquiries from readers about my outfits, I thought a My Style series may be a good place to start.
I wore this outfit last week to a big meeting Hobson and I had to attend. While I can't divulge any other details now (annoying and vague, I know!), I will say this meeting was an exciting step for us. On this particular day, it was typical New England summer weather, hot and humid. So white pants paired with this flowy, lightweight and sleeveless blouse was the perfect option to stay cool while looking somewhat professional.
In the spirit of full disclosure, in no way do I consider myself a style or fashion expert (or beauty expert, for that matter... I mean, look at that seriously frizzy hair!). This series will merely be what I love to wear, why I wear it and options for you all to purchase if you see something you like.
Happy Thursday! I hope you step outside of your comfort zone today.
