1011536_10152099173977178_720263959_n Today is my twenty-third birthday. It's hard to believe when it feels like only yesterday I was taking ballet lessons and playing catch with my dad in the backyard. Nevertheless, I've been reflecting on my life these past few days, thinking of the lessons I've learned and everything I'm grateful for. I know this is usually something one does when turning 40, 50, 75... I may only be 23 but I've definitely lived and learned, and I think I'm allowed a few life reflections.

{some reflections and lessons on twenty-three years}

  1. I've learned the importance of your own happiness, regardless of what it takes.
  2. I've learned people change and there's nothing you can do about it except continue to be true to yourself.
  3. With each passing day, I've become more grateful for the parents that raised me and the childhood they gave me.
  4. I've lost and found love but know I've truly met my other half.
  5. Traveling is one of the most important things in my life and I've vowed to never stop.
  6. My passions are constantly evolving and it's fun to go with the flow and learn new things.
  7. I may not be a 4.00 academic genius but the things I'm learning in life are just as, if not more, important.
  8. I absolutely love being independent and {joint} building a mini household.
  9. Experiences are what make my life fun.
  10. Trying new things keeps each day new.
  11. The best friends are the ones that love me to death and stick by me no matter what I do, love or believe in.
  12. Writing will be my career.

In case you're wondering, no, I did not sit in a darkened room surrounded by candles and inspirational music reflecting on my life. My weekend did consist of other fun activities! It's been {and will continue to be today} a birthday of family fun, farmer's markets, graduation celebrations, boating, mini golfing, soft serve ice cream with sprinkles {of course}, yummy meals, truly one of a kind family and friends. Life's good.

Hope you all had a great weekend! It may be Monday, but it's a beautiful day.
